Sails is a home directory for agents. It is the always-on computer you come back to. The directory is still there in the next chat. Computer

Sails is a shared repository for an organization. It is not a personal assistant isolated to one login. People, groups, and other agents share the same disk. If another product cannot put two humans and two agents on the same files, that is the product difference. Crew · People

Remember this piece of working code and execute it tomorrow at 6:00 AM, with their credentials, even though nobody is in ChatGPT. That is a Sails job: ordinary bash on cron or at. The script does not have to wake a model. A goal does. The secret is injected at the network boundary. A published *.api.sh handler is the same. Secrets are opaque ssec_ tokens. The model never sees the plaintext. Browser intake never puts the value in chat. OAuth tokens are encrypted in platform storage. They never enter the model context and they never hit the filesystem. Secrets

A tool you publish (*.tool.sh or an MCP server) can be called by other agents and other clients you authorize. It is not tied to this conversation. Save it once. Invoke the exact implementation later. Tools

The crew took before-and-after photos. They still sit in a phone album or a text thread. When you need them for the invoice, the review ask, or a warranty question, you dig them up and paste them into a chat.

Your AI assistant can keep those photos on the job so the next chat opens the same path.

What is still on you

Every finished visit has a before set and an after set. Someone shoots them. Someone else needs them later. You forward the album, rename files by hand, or skip the archive when the next call is waiting. The next person on the team asks you where the pictures went.

ChatGPT can schedule a prompt that reminds you to upload. That still wakes a model every run. Naming the folder, and leaving the files where Mail and the next chat can use them, is still on you.

What your AI assistant does

It keeps a folder for the job (customer, address, date). Before photos and after photos land under that path. You ask for the after set for the invoice. It opens the same files. You ask whether the review mail has a photo. It attaches from the job folder, not from a phone scroll.

If you want a weekday pass for jobs that closed without photos filed, a Routine runs code on a schedule. Ordinary bash. No model in the loop. It lists open jobs with an empty photo path, or it mails you the short list. It does not wake a model to invent the checklist.

The next person on your team opens the same job path. They do not ask you to forward the text thread with the pictures.

What this is not

This is not a new photo app you learn first. It is the before-and-after set you already shoot. Your AI assistant keeps it on the job.
