Privacy Policy

Last updated July 2026

This Privacy Policy is a practical draft for Sails. It should be reviewed by legal counsel before production use.

Overview

Sails gives AI assistants a workspace where they can create files, organize projects, save progress, connect tools, and publish finished work. To provide the service, we may collect information about you, your account, your workspace, and how the product is used.

We try to collect only what we need to operate Sails, support customers, improve the product, and keep the service secure.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, contact us, or subscribe to Sails, we may collect information such as your name, email address, company name, billing details, and plan information.

Workspace content

Sails may store the files, folders, notes, project data, published pages, logs, and other content created or uploaded in your workspace. This content belongs to you or your organization.

Usage information

We may collect information about how Sails is used, such as pages visited, features used, actions taken, error reports, device information, browser information, approximate location, and timestamps.

Connected tools

If you connect Sails to another service, we may store connection settings, access tokens, permissions, tool names, and related metadata needed to make that connection work. We do not intentionally store passwords in project files.

Communications

If you contact us for support, sales, feedback, or onboarding, we may keep those messages and related contact information.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve Sails
  • Create and maintain your account and workspaces
  • Save files, project state, logs, and published outputs
  • Enable approved connections to external tools
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Respond to support, sales, and onboarding requests
  • Monitor reliability, debug issues, and prevent abuse
  • Send product, security, billing, and administrative messages
  • Comply with legal obligations

How AI and workspace content are handled

Sails is designed to let AI assistants work with files and projects on your behalf. When you use Sails through an AI assistant, the assistant may read, create, edit, or organize content in your workspace based on your instructions and the permissions you grant.

We do not claim ownership of your workspace content. You are responsible for the content you upload, create, publish, or instruct an AI assistant to generate.

Sharing information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers who help us host, operate, secure, bill, or support Sails
  • Connected services you authorize Sails to use
  • Members of your organization or workspace, according to your settings and permissions
  • Legal, safety, or security authorities when required by law or necessary to protect Sails, users, or the public
  • A successor entity if Sails is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets

Published content

If you publish a page, report, site, tool, data view, or other output through Sails, that content may be visible to anyone with access to the published link, depending on the publishing settings available for that project.

Do not publish private, confidential, or sensitive information unless you intend for it to be shared.

Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Sails, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and support legitimate business needs.

You may request deletion of your account or workspace content by contacting us. Some information may remain in backups, logs, billing records, or legal records for a limited period.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure will never occur.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for reviewing what your AI assistant creates, changes, connects, or publishes.

Your choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict the use of certain personal information. You may also opt out of nonessential marketing communications.

To make a request, contact us through the contact page.

Children

Sails is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and may provide additional notice.
